My initial sketches of my design was an exploration of a basic kite design. I wanted to keep the structure of this familiar kite design, but include my own stance. After building my design of the basic kite design and replacing the material with bamboo, I ran into several problems. The bend of the bamboo was uneven and therefore had trouble flying. That is when I began to explore with the box kite design.
